Looking around and witnessing people covered from head to toe, its a sad fact that yes, summer is well and truly over. Out comes the down jackets, boots, hats, scarves, gloves and what not. Away goes the dresses, shorts, tank tops and ‘flip flops’ as they term it here.
The dramatic drop in temperature sees me dwelling on life back home. As we’re nearing into winter, summer is fast approaching in Oz right now. For the first time since being over here, I’d prefer Syd over London at this moment in time. The weekends spent frolicking in the sand and soaking up the sun on the beaches *sigh*. Oh how I miss the good old days beaching it every weekend. I am absolutely dreading the dark and gloomy weather that awaits me.
With bad weather comes big appetites. Day by day its constant eating, hibernating, lack of exercise and before you know it, you’re twice the size with half your self esteem left. Okay I know it’s self inflicted and I could really do something about it. But I’m sure I’m not the only victim who succumbs to the cold by continuously devouring hot and hearty meals just to stay warm – comfort food as you would call it.
And with the festive season just around the corner, calls for more excuses to stuff our faces silly. Although Christmas this year will be different being away from my friends and family back home. I don’t even have any plans in place this year. A lonely Christmas it is. What a depressing thought! Could it be that I’m officially homesick??!
Till next time…Outskies!
