There’s absolutely nothing good about long-haul flights…unless you’re living it up in first or business class. For the rest of us mere mortals, it means enduring countless hours of cramped seating in the cattle barn that is economy. I shouldn’t complain really, considering my 5’3 stature requires little leg room. But the thought of spending a prolonged period of time in transit within a confined space, with little chance of moving around is enough to make anyone feel distressed.
My only saving grace was being sat next to a fellow foodie from Italy who also lives in London, which made the long journey a whole lot more bearable. Having recently completed an Italian beginner course, it was the perfect opportunity to test my newly acquired skills. No doubt we talked about London life, shared our passion for all things edible over a few glasses of vino, even our thoughts on the plane food served, which was surprisingly good by the way…..so good that I requested seconds. Winning! Ask and you shall receive 🙂
22 hours later and before I know it, I’m back over on the other side of the world in Sydney again. Touched down to a beautiful, clear sunny day – what a welcome! Ah…feels good to be home. Very much looking forward to spending some long overdue quality time with my dear family and friends. Now to sort out this damn jetlag!
Till next time…Outskies!
