Tucked away in a tiny strip off Threadneedle street, lies this swanky restaurant made for city folk. We enter the large, dimly lit room eagerly anticipating the 4 course meal and free flowing prosecco deal for £37.50 offered through Bookatable.
We are seated at our table and our glasses are promptly filled and continues to stay topped up – impressed so far!

The waiter takes our order and shortly after, a wee size bowl of whipped cods roe arrives with rice crackers on top. Hardly a dish that warrants a ‘first course’, the rice crackers were almost translucent with no crunch and did not pair well with what tasted like underwhelming taramasalata.

Things improved when the second course arrived. Tender pieces of pulled beef brisket laid on a soft fluffy taco with sour cream, all brought together by the rich, smokey barbecue sauce mMmm…. I could’ve easily devoured another one!

Now for the main event. A nice piece of juicy Argentinian rump that closely resembled a fillet – I was almost fooled! Served with a side of chips and chimichurri sauce. There’s an option to upgrade to 300g for an additional £7.95 but I was more than satisfied with the 200g portion.

By this point, the prosecco wasn’t flowing as freely and we found ourselves having to flag someone down for a top up, no biggie. And to finish off, an absolutely delightful dessert which was sort of like a deconstructed snickers bar – yummo!

There is a caveat of 90 mins “free-flow” so we made our way to the bar next door to order an additional bottle for £20 (as part of the deal). Overall, an enjoyable meal but what promised to be “free-flowing” prosecco fizzled out towards the end.
4 courses and free-flowing prosecco + service + extra bottle = £56.80pp
Till next time…Outskies!
